Upcoming Trends She’s Eyeing at Market

I am loving the variety of wall treatments in West Coast design, from wallpaper to the textured patina of lime wash or clay finish. I think we’ll continue to move away from “all white walls” and see designers explore these options.

Best Thing About the Las Vegas Market Experience

The ease! It’s so easy to get to from my home in Los Angeles, and once in Vegas, everything is a breeze. The market center is easy to get to with the hotel shuttles. When you’re at Las Vegas Market, you can easily access all of the showrooms, lectures, and parties. There’s no stress at LVMKT!

Favorite Find at Las Vegas Market

A few years ago, the Rue gals and I stumbled across Basil Bangs, an amazing outdoor accessory company from Australia, in the Pavilions. Their fringed umbrellas and outdoor pillows were a charming and unexpected discovery.

How Important is it to See Items in Person?

It’s incredibly important. A photograph can rarely convey the feeling of a piece – the comfort, the feel, the texture all need to be experienced in person.

Shopping List or No List?

No list! As an editor, it’s important to experience market without a preconceived notion of what you’re looking for. That’s the best way to truly discover the trends and uncover what people are loving most.

Market Shopping Tips for First-Timers

My best advice would be to explore out of your bubble. It’s great to make a list of what you’re looking for so that you can make the most of your time, but some of the best discoveries are off the beaten path. Explore up-and-comers in the Pavilions!

Favorite Thing to Do in Las Vegas

Eat! Some of the best chefs in the world have set up shop in Las Vegas. It’s a great opportunity to catch up with industry friends who are also in town, while enjoying food I might not have access to at home.
