Best of the West in Design, Jeni Maus
Meet the Best of the West...
Welcome to our feature series spotlighting a hand-picked collection of designers that truly represent the "Best of the West," which includes West Coast designer, Jeni Maus.
For over 15 years, Jeni Maus has discovered and collected pieces to give her own home a distinctive character and warmth. In February of 2010, she began offering her unique style to others in her curated collection of furniture and accessories at Found Vintage Rentals. Sourced from disparate locations like the California coast, Texas, the Mid-Atlantic region, Hungary and France, the Found Collection is an ever-evolving, constantly growing combination of both well-loved vintage pieces and reimagined designs. All one-of-a-kind, all picked by hand for their history and charm. We are thrilled to welcome Jeni as part of July’s “Best of the West” panel discussion!
Read on for a sneak peek at what inspires Jeni’s sense of West Coast style, her “must see” showrooms at Las Vegas Market, and more. Planning a trip to market in July? Meet Jeni in person and hear more from her and the rest of our Best of the West creatives on our REstyleSOURCE Best of the West design panel!
Jeni's West Coast Style?
"Cozy and airy with plenty of found objects and industrial pieces."
"West Coast style has a relaxed vibe with industrial elements, and a light neutral palette with a balance of found objects."
Why Does She Love Shopping at Las Vegas Market?
"I love that it has the Vintage and one of a kind tents [DISCOVERIES in Pavilion 2 at Las Vegas Market], and I love that everything is in close proximity and easy to shop in a 2-3 day trip."
Her Favorite Market Find?
“I have been buying from Blue Ocean Traders for years at the Texas and Brimfield Flea Markets, but I felt like they brought a lot of items [to Las Vegas Market] that they don’t bring to the flea markets.”
As an enthusiast of all things vintage, Jeni's first selection is the entire DISCOVERIES section in Pavilion 2 at Las Vegas Market.
Trends She's Eyeing at Market?
“Vintage finds are always the most important thing for me to be on the hunt for. I loved the vintage tent because I met new dealers and bought product that is unique and different.”
Favorite Places to Stay and Dine in Las Vegas?
“I stayed at the Aria (shown at left) this year, and never had to leave the hotel once I got back….they had great restaurants!”
Her Market Shopping Tips?
“Wear comfortable shoes, and have a plan of attack. Start with what’s most important that you definitely want to see, and be open to seeing new vendors as well. “
