Las Vegas Design Center Focuses on Education and Charity This October 1

October “First Friday” session and gallery event to kick off month-long fundraiser

LAS VEGAS – Las Vegas Design Center (LVDC) kicks off October with educational programming about functional kitchen design and a fundraiser for families with children living with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Both events will be held at LVDC on Friday, October 1, according to International Market Centers (IMC).

“LVDC is committed to both our industry and our Las Vegas community,” said Cain Brodie, LVDC general manager. “We aim to continue educating industry designers through monthly workshops and supporting the local community through fundraising initiatives such as Art 4 Autism.”

Educational Programming Returns with October “First Friday” Session

The October “First Friday” session, titled, Designing with Ultrapremium Kitchen Appliances for Enduring Style and Performance, explores the concept of the “prosumer” kitchen, the consumer values of the ultrapremium appliance market, and the styles, functions, and design considerations related to ultrapremium kitchen appliances. Designers will learn how to influence cooking at home using the same level of equipment as professional chefs. Participants in the free session, which will be held virtually, will receive 0.1 CEU credits.

Stacy McCarthy, Designer Services Manager at Middleby Residential – a collection of premier international consumer brands in kitchen appliances and interior furnishings – will present the October “First Friday” session. McCarthy is a certified master kitchen designer, bath designer and interior designer with degrees in both Architectural Drafting and Art History. Throughout her 25+ years in the industry, McCarthy has served in a variety of capacities, including owning her own design firm where she focused on catering to the conceptual and project management needs of her residential and commercial clients. Stacy is fully accredited through the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) and has spent several years as a CEU provider.

The October “First Friday” session will be held on Friday, October 1, at 10 a.m. in a virtual format on Zoom, offering 0.1 CEU credits. To register, visit https://imcenters.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_NUZvsFTQS8-Le6D_ONgOQA
