Las Vegas Market’s FIRST LOOK Showcases Gift and Home Themes
LAS VEGAS – (Nov. 11, 2020) – Las Vegas Market announced today that its proprietary FIRST LOOK trends program will showcase four design and color themes – COLOR CLASS, PATTERN PRIMER, REMOTE CONTROL and SUMMERTIME – for the Winter 2021 Market, Jan. 24 – Jan. 28. Prior to Market, two image-rich webinars will bring each trend to life with relevant Las Vegas Market furniture, gift and home décor products. Market exhibitors are invited to submit their best-selling or new introductions for consideration by Tuesday, Dec. 8.
“FIRST LOOK offers an early look at defining gift and home trends affecting our industry now and into 2021,” said Dorothy Belshaw, chief customer and marketing officer for IMC. “This winter, we’ll take a look at several broad trends and themes that resonate with consumers’ current moods, expectations and wants.”
For Winter Market, FIRST LOOK curator and 24-year magazine editor Julie Smith Vincenti seeks product submissions in all product categories, as well as designs connected to the following themes:
· REMOTE CONTROL: The only way through is forward. For many homeowners, this means repurposing and furnishing rooms so families can pivot and perform — as if working, living, and learning from home is here to stay.
· SUMMERTIME: Togetherness, celebration, and entertaining were re-scripted in 2020. But summer beckons. How will friends and families come together to celebrate, share and show thanks when the stage is set for sunnier times?
· COLOR CLASS: FIRST LOOK dives deeper into the complete palettes served up for 2021 by leading home brands and forecasting firms.
· PATTERN PRIMER: Take a peek at patterns holding steady, as well as incoming motifs. Patterns that complement incoming neutral, earthy, and cheerful palettes top the list of what’s new and next.
“Consumers will continue to focus on the appearance, performance and curb appeal of their homes in 2021, plus they continue to adapt to new norms regarding entertaining, togetherness and celebration,” Smith Vincenti explains. “Against this backdrop, FIRST LOOK will showcase top products and trends that address the needs and wants of today’s future-focused, resilient homeowners and shoppers. We’re covering all Las Vegas Market product categories in a two-part program, with a special focus on top-performing and incoming colors and patterns.”
Smith Vincenti will present two FIRST LOOK webinars exploring these themes and related products from Las Vegas Market’s gift and home furnishings exhibitors: Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021: FIRST LOOK - Winter 2021 Home Furnishings Webinar; and Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021: FIRST LOOK - Winter 2021 Gift, Housewares, Textiles, and Tabletop Webinar. Registration for both webinars, which run from 1 to 1:45 p.m. (PST), will be available in the coming weeks.
To be considered for FIRST LOOK, Las Vegas Market exhibitors must submit digital imagery (measuring at least 5”x7” at 300 dpi) and a completed product description form by Dec. 8 to Sandra Talley at stalley@imcenters.com and Julie Smith Vincenti at julie@ninemusesmedia.com.
