Temporaries at Las Vegas Market to be segmented by category

Temporary exhibits at the Summer 2007 Las Vegas Market will be located for the first time at the Sands Expo. Adjacent to and adjoining the Venetian Hotel on the Strip, the Sands Expo is just minutes from the permanent showrooms at World Market Center.

Sands ExpoThe state-of-the-art environment of the Sands Expo is tailored to generate traffic, facilitate cross-selling and maximize efficiency, according to WMC Leasing Manager Lois Richards. Buyers will see a new, segmented format this summer that covers an expansive 555,400 square feet of the Sands Expo.

“One of our top priorities at Las Vegas Market is to make shopping and selling easy — in fact, a pleasure,” said Richards. “To this end, we have worked closely with our buyers to understand how they shop and how we can design our show to best fit the purpose. The result is creating product segments in our show, grouping our exhibitors in areas specific to their market so they can quickly and easily be discovered by the relevant buyer.”

The end result is that buyers can quickly and easily find the product they are after and exhibitors are happier because they are more visible to potential customers.

“What we have done resembles the same type categorization used in a well-planned retail shopping environment,” she said. “Our buyers can use their time looking at product rather than just looking for it.”

Quote“What we’re doing is answering the call for ease of location and produce segmentation. It’s a similar concept as the permanent showrooms at WMC — one floor is dedicated to home decor, and the next floor dedicated to contemporary furniture — it’s just translated into the tradeshow setting,” she said.

At the Sands Expo this summer, buyers will see prominent signage and spacious walkways connecting seven distinctly branded show sections that will help ensure that targeted buyers find what they are looking for quickly and easily: Furniture; Design & Living, featuring Living Green, an area for sustainable furniture; Home Collection; Sleep; Vegas Accessory & Gift; Interior Lifestyle; and Resource.

Interior LifestyleSM USA, returning for its fifth market, will again bring the Heimtextil and Ambiente brand shows and high-end exhibitors to market in an impressive display that features bedding, kitchen and bath textiles, decorative and furnishing fabrics, window coverings and tabletop products.

The new Design & Living segment is a juried area that will highlight the industry’s most gifted new designers and their products. This concentrated exhibit of products is aimed at product- and design-focused buyers.

The next two off-site venues will be the MGM Grand (January 2008) and the Mandalay Bay Convention Center (July 2008).
