First Look 2017: Personal Space

Personal Space, one of four FIRST LOOK vignettes on view at Las Vegas Market Jan. 22-26, is a his/her bathroom presentation that serves as backdrop for material and finish mixes. Meanwhile, one of the most robust gift categories at Las Vegas Market, personal care, is on display as well — we're showing just a sampling of the newest soothing creams, salts, scrubs and soaps you'll shop this season.

When it comes to finishes, white, off white and gray are the most popular bathroom color choices among respondents in the National Kitchen & Bath Association's "2017 Kitchen & Bath Design Trends Report." In Personal Space, Worlds Away's new Owen bathroom vanity hits the mark with a timely mix of matte gray, lustrous gold and white marble. Owen is just one of several designs in the company's new bathroom vanities launch. (Spot Worlds Away's Davin vanity in the Personal Space vignette, too.) 

Open storage is another top trend in bathroom design according to NKBA's 2017 report — Abbyson Living's Rowley gold-and-glass shelving unit is our pick to illustrate. Side note: Nineteen percent of NKBA's respondents specified console tables for their recent bathroom projects, and 8 percent indicated it's a design choice that will grow in the future.

European Soap’s Private Collection includes shea butter-enriched soaps; mango and cocoa butter hand creams; and long-burning soy wax-blend candles.

Mirrors? We've got plenty in Personal Space, including designs from Arteriors and Howard Elliott. Textiles? We tapped Eight Mood for a luxurious assortment. Meanwhile, Adesso Inc.'s innovative Felix LED wall washer lights things up; the 65-inch-high superstar delivers 2,500 lumens of light in a thin tube that rests atop a marble base.

The Personal Space display is a stage for personal care products — here's just a handful of what we'll be showing: Crabtree & Evelyn's new Goatmilk line for sensitive skin; European Soaps' Private Collection, which tempts with scent combinations such as Tobacco Flower and Vanilla, Wild Celery and Tonka Bean and Rhubarb and Mint Tea; and fragrant selections dreamed up by architect-turned-perfumer Albert Nichols, whose elizabethW brand offers three Signature scents and a small-batch apothecary assortment.
